The orientation course follows directly on from the general language course or the language course with literacy and comprises 100 lessons.

- Constitutional organs, parties and state symbols
- Welfare state
- Political involvement and participation
History and responsibility
- National Socialism and its consequences
- Important milestones in the history of Germany after 1945
- Life in reunified Germany and Europe
People and society
- Living together in the family and other communities
- Education and training in Germany
- Intercultural coexistence
- Religious diversity
The aim
of this course is to pass the final test “Living in Germany” (LID). Participation in this test is not mandatory.
