This course is aimed at immigrants,
- who have never attended school in their home country (illiterate).
- who are overwhelmed with the written language requirements of a general language course (functional illiterates).
It comprises 900 (max. 1,200) teaching hours.
Here, participants acquire basic writing and reading skills as well as the speaking skills necessary for everyday communication.
The number of participants in our language courses with literacy is limited to 15 participants, so that the lecturer has sufficient time for the learning needs and learning requirements of each individual participant.
At the end of the course, the participant of our language course with literacy should:
- have learned how to use pen, paper and books.
- master the alphabet, understand and write numbers.
- be able to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. personal and family information, shopping, work, local area).
- be able to communicate in simple, routine situations involving a simple and direct exchange of information about familiar and common things.
- be able to describe with simple means their own background and education, the immediate environment and things related to immediate needs.
At the end of this course, the participant has the opportunity to take the DTZ exam.
The aim of this course, plus an orientation course of 100 lessons, is to achieve language level A2 of the Common European Framework of Competencefor Languages (CEFR).
